When you see great colour in a show, what you see is no accident —  carefully compose of each frame and make colour decisions that affect your experience of watching, even if you don’t realise it. 

Colour grading has the power to set a unique look & feel to any video and is fast becoming an industry standard for both online and traditional media platforms.

Journey shared at Broadcast Asia 2019

Alicia Wong, Senior Manager, Mediacorp Digital Arts was invited to share her 6 year journey in her role as a colourist at the Blackmagic Design Booth, at the recent Broadcast Asia 2019.

Real life examples of shows she has worked on was shared, from working with REC709 videos to log and 4K media, multi-camera challenges, as well as the processes to which searching for a suitable color palette directly affects the audiences’ viewing experience.

The presentation ended with an interactive Q&A session where several questions from the audience were answered. Alicia also shared Mediacorp’s plans to constantly evaluate and raise production standards through engaging various experts and stakeholders in pre and post production stages. .
